Submarine I-401

Hello, is this photo of submarine I-401 in the public domain? It was taken right after the end of WW2. -Artanisen (talk)

@Artanisen: If it was taken in the US, you would have to show that it was never copyrighted, or there was no reservation of rights on the back, or it was not renewed. If the formalities were complied with and it was published in 1945 and the renewal was timely, the copyright lasts through the end of 1945+95=2040. See COM:HIRTLE and COM:US.
